Turmeric is the flavoorrr of the weeek! (Yes, i’m singing American Hi-Fi’s hit song from 2001)
I’ve seen turmeric oats a few times on Instagram and I just had to try them for myself. If only for that gorgeous colour! The one thing you need to keep in mind with turmeric is that it can be easily overpowering, so taste as you go until you get it just the way you like it.
Ingredients:
2 servings
- 1 cup whole rolled oats
- 2 cups almond milk
- Dash of turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp maple flakes or maple syrup
- Dash of vanilla extract
- Almond butter
- Cherries
- Pumpkin seeds
- Homemade granola
Directions:
- Mix oatmeal, milk, maple flakes and vanilla extract in saucepan and cook on medium heat. Stir occasionally and cook until the oatmeal is well combined and creamy (the milk is no longer liquidy). About 10 minutes.
- Divide oatmeal into 2 bowls.
- Top with almond butter, sliced cherries, pumpkin seeds and granola or whatever toppings you like!
