Relaxing Tonic

First thing in the morning, I need something warm to drink. Like, that’s the only thing that I think about. It’s the only thing that will get me going. Tea is good, Matcha is better, coffee is just above that, but i’ve finally found the best morning drink.

A relaxing tonic.

Have you heard that warm water and lemon is the best thing to consume first thing in the morning? It’s true! It helps flush your body out from the overnight toxins. Well, this is taking it up a notch. Add a few magical ingredients and you’ve got a wizard’s potion.

It’s revitalizing, cleansing and it boosts your immune system. It wakes up the digestive system and gives it a slap in the face and it’s easy to make. It’s tasty, but strong and it might not be anything like your creamy sweet vanilla latte, but it’s SO worth it, I promise. This recipe isn’t vegan because it contains honey and i’m not sure it can be replaced with anything that has the same properties. So if you’re vegan, I would try this without any sweetener at all. The ingredients used have amazing healing benefits and will certainly leave you feeling awake and ready to take on the day!

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp powdered or fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp powdered or fresh turmeric
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Pinch cinnamon
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in large mug. Fill with boiling water. Mix well. Let cool until cool enough to drink.
