Yogi’s – Gather together for the Toronto Yoga Conference

That’s right guys it’s the most wonderful time of the year now that the Toronto Yoga Conference is right around the corner! Whether you are a hardcore yogi fanatic or a totally fresh newbie this event is sure to deliver on so many levels. The event runs March 31st-April 3rd and is held in the North building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This is Canada’s largest yoga event and hosts more than 65 world class teachers. In addition to the insanely talented faculty, the show holds over 250 vendors with a wide variety of products and services to offer.

These 4 days are jam packed full of classes, workshops and lectures and if you’re struggling to decide what to do or which classes to take don’t worry, you’re not alone. Let’s talk teachers. When I say world class teachers I really mean it. You have a ton of very experienced instructors from all over the globe right here at your fingertips. I have some legendary rock stars of yoga I’d like to recommend to you so take notes. Rod Stryker and Todd Norian are two incredible teachers offering beautiful yet challenging workshops. These two have been staples at yoga events all over the world for a long time. We also have Colleen and Rodney Yee… just saying their names gives me goose bumps. This husband and wife duo offer workshops together. They seamlessly co-teach and are masters of sequencing postures and inversions. Speaking of power couples, there are the local and fabulous JP and Michelle Tamblyn-Sabo. These two teach separately but deliver incredible workshops and own two very successful studios in the GTA. Check out the conference guide to see all of the wonderful teachers.

If emptying your wallet on workshops isn’t exactly what you want to do, the conference offers free yoga classes all day long in the ‘yoga garden’ located in the middle of the vendor area. Here you can take as many free classes as you want all day from some of the legends I mentioned earlier. These class run for an hour each but fill up fast so bring your own mat and be sure to get there early.

As much as I love yoga, I love eating and shopping just as much. The vendors here are unique and exciting. You can purchase clothing, jewelry, food, music, health and wellness products, beauty products, yoga props and everything is reasonably priced. You can receive massages, reflexology, body art and henna tattoos as well as chill in the lounge they have provided and take a much needed rest from so much activity. Fuel up on healthy vegetarian meals, vegan baking or delicious and fresh coconut water from your very own coconut. YUM!

There is so much going on during these 4 days and your $15 admission ticket is good for the whole weekend. The Conference runs Thursday (for workshops only) and Friday/Saturday 10-8 and Sunday 10-6. This will be an amazing experience and it only comes once a year! Check it out, I highly recommend it.
